grade A

Monday, June 11, 2007

We passed!
And we got an A+!
Actually I don't think they hand out grades...but if they did we would have gotten a perfect score! :)
Our agency paperwork rep emailed this morning to let us know she had finished grading our dossier and everything looks good. We're ready for the next step.
The apostilles.
It really shouldn't be too hard. We have four states to work with. Three of them I've sent documents to before and have gotten things back in a week or less. The fourth state we've never worked with before (home mortgage co.). We'll see how that one goes.
After the apostilles come in then our little (big) stack of papers heads off to Ukraine.

Edited to add...
I forgot to mention our agency has decided we should get the apostiles because they think it will save some time. I just think it will give me another headache! Hopefully it won't take too long to get. I should have the packet in the next day or so. I'm considering a trip to our state capital to pick them up, but we also have to get apostilles from Colorado, Missouri and Virginia. I hope this doesn't drag out too long.

You sure that you need to go through your mortgage company...out of state, I think you might be able to simply get a copy of your deed from your local courthouse...you might want to check on that...

I'm not sure. The agency requested the mortgage statement so that's what we went with. Thankfully our mortgage company was pretty easy to work with and we got the statement within a few days. The part I'm a little concerned with now is getting the apostille from their state. We'll see how that goes. :)

Great news! Good luck with the apostilles, shouldn't be too bad.

It probably will save time because you will be much more driven to get them done quickly... but those things are a headache, aren't they. Congrats on a job well done with your dossier, hope this last step is smooth and quick!

Congratulations on a completed dossier! But why is an agency that proports itself as 'document specialists' wanting you to get the apostilles? That one doesn't make sense to me. Well, I hope it is a speedy turnaround for you.

Make sure that you don't need a county clerk to certify your notary before you get your apostille. I had to for my mortgage statement (in Kentucky). It was no big deal, just took a bit longer. Congrats on your A+

Great news! The apostile thing can be such a hassle though. I hope it doesn't drag out too long for you too.

Congrats on getting through that hurdle. Hope the apostilles come quickly...and then you'll wait. The hard part.
