I'm not intentionally ignoring you.
Our home computer is on the fritz...
And I'm swamped.
Between running kids to doctor's appointments...
church activities...
Oh! And finding airline tickets.
It's just been a little nuts..
We just can't seem to settle on a flight.
Some will get us there fast...
Others let us see new parts of the world...
Still others don't have long layovers...
While the rest give us more than enough time to get through customs.
What to do, what to do...
I finally caved-in today and called a travel agent.
We'd been trying to avoid it, thinking we could save some cash using Exped!a, 0rbitz or Cheap T!ckets. But while we may be able to save a little cash, the truth is, for us, it's not worth the headache.
So we're working with a nice lady and she's found us some nice options. Options we hadn't seen on the internet.
Now we just need to make a decision.

I learned that from our first trip to Russia. It pays to use a travel agent in some instances and international adoption travel seems to be one of those times! I am sick of bein at my computer this week too. Lots of updating of documents and used car shopping. Not fun! Tomorrow I'm taking a break and cleaning house...HA!

Oh, I can relate! Every time we saw a good deal, there was just 45 minutes between flights, so obviously it was not acceptable. I think you made a right decision by working with a professional. Let us know when you finally make a decision!

We'll be taking medium size suitcases. We have a couple of very large ones, and I don't think they'll fit in the train compartment :)

I think that is a good idea. The travel agency can at least narrow it down to a few for you to choose from.

Just be sure you are using a travel agent who is experienced in EE adoption travel. You will be glad you did when it comes time to change your flights home. Let me know if you want a referral.

I too am funny about buying airline tickets on-line. We booked directly through the airline and were able to secure better seats, better flights (without the 8 hour layovers) although we paid more. Those options weren't on the internet either. Like you, I thought it just isn't worth the headache. We will definitely use a travel agent for out trip. Let us know when the tickets finally get purchased!!

I'm with Kate. We just want to GET THERE! :) Plus fewer connections for us means fewer chances for delays. Since we're only flying the day before our appt if we miss a flight we're in real trouble. :)

I just purchased the one ways from JFk into Kiev. $395 per person. eek! Can't undo it now. I figure getting there is all that's important. God knows our finanaces and he'll make sure everything is covered in the end. Its all good!
