at the eleventh hour

Wednesday, December 19, 2007

Actually, eleven hours, 58 minutes...
She cut it pretty close.
Our American friend who came here hoping to adopt a little girl six weeks ago, may have finally found her daughter.
She went to her appointment yesterday without much hope. Her only chance lie in the fact that she got an unprecendented third appointment.
NOBODY gets three appointments.
Surely, there would be a little girl in the files for her to visit.
Still, she told us before she left for her 3 o'clock meeting that she expected to be back in the early evening to start packing for her flight home the next morning.
When she returned, instead of packing for her flight home to Louisiana, she boarded a train bound for the Odessa region last night.
She met the little girl this morning and fell in love.
Good things do happen here in Ukraine.
We may not be one of the success stories...time will only tell.
But I am thrilled in the fact that this little girl will soon have a Mama who will love her, protect her and encourage her. She will be in a loving environment full of possibilities.
Praise be.

Oh Tami, How I have been praying for your "eleventh hour". The story is not written yet, there are still chapters to go. Hold on with everything within you. May God's Will be done.

Odessa is the region our missionary friends work in. I am very glad for your friend and her daughter, but my heart is still aching for your family.

Glad to hear of the news for your friend. I still have hope. Your story isn't over.

I'm still praying. Looking forward to hearing you're home.

I was hoping it was YOUR 11th hour when I read the title.

Still, I'm glad that little girl will have a family.

I hope you do get your 11th hour after all. Is a return trip for another appt. after the holidays completely out of the question?

Tami,

It was so encouraging what happened to your friend!!! I have been praying that the very same thing could happen for you. The Lord knows I have been saying "They still have a week! Lord, show them their child, please!"

I so admire your spirit and generosity!

Still praying...
