a quick update

Friday, August 15, 2008

I'm smack dab in the middle of packing, but I wanted to give you a quick update...

- We're in the middle of negotiating on the house. They've countered our offer and we've countered theirs. We're waiting for a hopeful counter again today. (We're still pretty far apart on the whole price thing...but they're willing to let us rent it until we can close AND we can move in on Monday, so we're keeping our fingers crossed and doing A LOT of praying! :)
- We've had a nibble on our house - without even listing it. A woman came by on Wednesday evening and said her daughter was interested in moving to our town and had been looking for two years for the right house. She asked some questions and then said she would pass it along to her daughter. Yesterday the daughter called (turned out her kids had played on our kids baseball teams this summer) and asked if she could come by and take a look.
So instead of packing yesterday, I cleaned.
The kids cleaned.
We all cleaned.
For hours.
Its amazing how dirty your house can get when you're in the middle of packing.
Last night she came by and spent about 30 minutes going through the house and asking questions. Before she left she said she would probably call us for a second showing soon and would be bringing someone with her.
It would be SO nice to get this sold! I can't even begin to tell you what a relief it would be.
BUT I'm not holding my breath.
I'll let you know when we know something for certain on the Wyoming house...and this house.
Keep praying! ;>)
Edited to add: We've bought a house! Actually, we'll be buying a house in March. Until then we'll be renting it. What a relief! We have a place to move to on Monday! And now we know which school the kids will be going to. Whew!

Sounds like quite a nibble on your house! Hope it all works out.

Your situation could be a definition of STRESS! I don't know how you are holding it all together. Wish I were close by to pitch in and throw together Rachel's family recipe - 5 can casserole.

Keep us updated and good luck with everything.

Are you leaving next week?

Yeah! Makes life easier!

Great news on the Wyonming house and scary great news on selling your house! I will be SO jealous if you sell it without even listing!! (We're at 115 days on market and counting with no nibbles whatsoever...)
All the best as you make the move!
