T wo years ago, as Shad and I were on our way back to Ukraine for Maddie's court date, we met up with some bloggy friends at the JFK airport.
Actually, we first met them in Atlanta, but I'll let you read the post for the background.
We were on our way back to Maddie...they were on their way back to Ukraine to bring home their three new sons. We were strangers when we met...friends by the time we boarded the plane. Its amazing how sharing the adoption experience bonds you. ;)
Anyway...I saw this on Steve's blog today and just had to share it. Every time I hear this song, I get weepy. I was listening to it on Shad's IPod as we pulled out of Odessa, leaving Maddie for the first time. I still get teary just thinking about it. (I've even used it to make Maddie's 1 year video - which you've never seen, and I STILL can't get it to upload, which is even a longer story now a year later).
Steve did an amazing job of putting words and images together to describe the beauty of adoption. So many just don't understand what it is that makes international adoptive parents travel half-way around the world to find their children.
I think this video helps explain.
Sit back...grab your tissues...and open up your spirit. I guarantee you won't be the same. Blessings.
